Square eyes

I've put in some time on this the last day or so but it's all paid off and next month is looking very organised. A few more days at work then I'm away.

This was on the radio a minute ago...

it's been a while since I've heard it and I'd forgotten how good it is. I'm no fan of the musical in fact I would go as far as to say I hate musicals but this is a fantastic piece of cinema.

Old Man Oscar

The other important family member I got to see this weekend was Oscar our cat. He turned 16 recently and is taking the role of bad tempered old cat on very well, he did his usual act of ignoring me when I arrived then spent most of the rest of the time on my lap.

My Sisters

I got to see my sisters Adie and Alex this weekend which these days is a rare thing as we don't live that near each other and in between work and raising families finding the time to meet up is proving to be more and more difficult. This weekend however we all converged on Sheffield and as always we had a really good time together which involved a lot of laughing (at each other). I came back home today and miss them already, I feel lucky you couldn't ask for better sisters.

Family

This is a picture of me with my oldest nephew Joel from a couple of years ago, he's not just my nephew he's also a good friend and whenever I get to see him we have a fun time, last summer I went and looked after him for a week in the school holidays so he didn't have to go to sports camp or summer club and could have some time off. We had a great time and he behaved brilliantly and even though he's not my child I love him along with my two other nephews and niece as if they were. I think until you have children or a sibling has kids you can't imagine how much they change your life and make you question what really matters, you can't help but re-evaluate your values and priorities so suddenly all those things that used to worry you suddenly become unimportant.

Home

London has been home for nearly five years now and I've always loved it not necessarily liked every moment but never hated it and I think that this will always be the case whether I stay here or move on. I love city life it has everything if you look for it excitement, entertainment, anonymity, peace and tranquility the list goes on, I can't imagine living anywhere other than in a city it keeps me sane the countryside is too quiet it allows you to think too much.

Through work and luck over the last couple of years I have been able to travel to New York and San Francisco which were both cities where I felt at home and would move there given the chance without hesitation. N.Y. I instantly liked whereas S.F. I took a day or two to really warm to but after that found it hard to leave and hope I can find some way of spending at least a year of my life there at some point.

Next month I hope to add Los Angeles to my list of places I'd like to live as I'm going there for a holiday. I've spoken to people I know who have visited or lived there and their opinions of the place vary greatly I'm going with an open mind but I think I'm probably going to like it I will give you my review in a few weeks.
